Albert Ellis

Albert Ellis (born September 27, 1913) is a psychologist who is the originator of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT); the theory being one's intermost thoughts control one's feelings. The positive modification of these thoughts can bring about improvement. This is the foundation of cognitive therapy. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
