Agent Under Fire (video game)

Agent Under Fire is a first-person shooter video game based on the James Bond franchise. Developed and published by Electronic Arts it was released on March 12, 2002 for GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox game consoles.

Agent Under Fire is the first Bond game which is not based on a film or book in the James Bond series. Its sequels have currently all been original stories as well.

Multiplayer

Starting with GoldenEye 007 and continuing on with The World Is Not Enough, multiplayer support in a James Bond game has become a staple. The multiplayer element in Agent Under Fire features up to 4 players and in the Xbox and GameCube version includes enemy AI bots.

Trivia

  • John Cleese was originally to have lent his likeness to this game in his role as the new Q in the Bond films, and images of him were used in early promotion of the game. When the game was released, however, Cleese's likeness had been removed. The character is referred to as "R" in this game, reflecting the nickname initially given to Cleese's character in The World Is Not Enough.
