Aerial survey is a mehtod of collecting infomation by utilizing aerial photography or from remote sensing technology using other bands of the electromagnetic spectrum such as infrared, gamma or ultraviolet.

Aerial surveys are used for:

• Land survey
• Archeology
• Monitoring wildlife and insect populations, called aerial census
• Reconnaissance
