The ANZAC Spirit is the spirit represented by the ANZAC soldiers, where ANZAC is an acronym for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The ANZAC spirit represents the two countries (Australia and New Zealand), either when fighting war together or when fighting seperatly. It is commonly said that the ANZAC spirit was first founded at the Battle of Gallipoli, where Australians and New Zealanders first fought together. Since then most believe it has imbued every single Australian and New Zealand soldier, and was most prevalent in the World Wars.
Characteristics of the ANZAC spirit
There are varying definitions of the ANZAC spirit, many based on personal opinion, most as accurate as another. Many characteristics that are quoted often include: mateship, courage and sacrifice. Another definition is the the spirit that drives us to do what is necessary, without need for recognition or praise.
